George Hunter

Goalkeeper George Hunter left Brig O’Lea in 1949 to join Celtic.In over 5 years at Celtic Park George made only 38 appearances however one of those was in the 1951 Scottish Cup Final when Celtic defeated Motherwell 1-0.

He left Celtic for Derby County in the summer of 1954 and made 19 league appearances before moving on to Exeter City where he played 147 times in the English league Division 3 (South) between 1955-59.

After playing a couple of seasons with non-league Yiewsley he returned to the English League Division 4, turning out 22 times for Darlington in 1961-62. George then moved back into non-league football with Burton Albion but made one last league appearance in 1965-66 aged 35 for Lincoln City.
